The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2022 has been laid before parliament. This affects the amount of compensation claimants can be awarded.
The compensation limits usually increase each year. For those dismissed after 6th April 2022, a week’s pay used to calculate the Basic Award, Statutory Redundancy Pay and a handful of other awards the Employment Tribunal can make will increase from a maximum £544 per week to £571.
This will mean the Maximum Basic Award and Statutory Redundancy Pay entitlement will increase from £16,320 to £17,130
Also included in the legislation is an increase to the maximum Compensatory Award for unfair dismissal claims from £89,493 to £93,878
